Bogen AFDS2 Automatic Failure Detector 1. Model AFDS2 Provides redundant amplification capabilities Automatic reset The AFDS2 supervises main and standby power amplifiers. A drop of as little as 2dB in the output level of either amplifier causes an LED to illuminate and an alert tone to sound. Simultaneously, the AFDS2 automatically transfers operation to the standby amplifier, with no perceptible loss of signal. Once the trouble is corrected, operation is restored to the main amplifier. This ensures that page announcements and music are audible even during periods of high noise levels. When the signal is boosted, the frequency response is shaped so that speech articulation becomes more intelligible. The shaped response also eliminates distortion in music reproduction. The system consists of the ANS500 control module, ANSPS power supply (12V from 120V AC), and one ANS500M microphone. Additional microphones are available.
