As a leader in the wire and cable industry, Alpha Wire manufactures multi-conductor cables, cable tubing, and other electronic and electrical equipment.
Alpha’s extensive range of Manhattan wire and cable, hook-up wire and standard communication and control cables are suited for a variety of projects. Hook-up wire, including Alpha wire 461219, is available in a range of insulations, is available with a variety of requirements, including: suitability for varying temperatures, resistance to wear and tear, electrical performance, and ability to resist solvents, oils, and chemicals. Common applications include high-temperature ovens, specialized machine tools, control cabinets, and off-road construction machinery.
Alpha’s collection of standard communication and control cables, including Alpha cable 3248, is bolstered by other materials including insulation/jacketing materials, shielding options, and conductor counts. All of these meet exacting standards of EMI performance, transmission distances, flexibility, and temperature extremes.
Established in New York City in 1922, Alpha began as a supplier of wire strengtheners to the millinery industry, becoming a respected provider for the expanding radio industry through the 1930s by producing insulators for antennas. In the decades to follow, Alpha Wire grew with the defense industry's electronic needs during World War II and the introduction of television. Alpha’s product line expanded accordingly, and the company introduced the use of plastics to insulate wires and cables. Alpha received its first ISO 9000 certification in 1994, and ISO 9001 certification in 2000. In the early 2000s, Manhattan Wire Products, Dearborn Wire and Cable, and Kerrigan Lewis joined the Alpha family, boosting already wide-ranging product lines for the electrical industry, marine applications and specialty products.
